Richard Chalkey is originally from the hometown of Streator, IL and attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Most recently, Richard served at the White House as the Associate Director of the National Economic Council, under Directors: Gary Cohn and Larry Kudlow, and as the Associate Director of the Office of Legislative under Directors: Shahira Knight, Eric Ueland, and Amy Swonger. He was the first and longest serving ILLINI in President Trump's White House and the longest serving Illinoian in the West Wing. Prior to the White House, Richard served in the DC offices of U.S. Senator Mark Kirk of Illinois and Congressman Rodney Davis of Illinois. Before moving to Washington, Richard was a founding team member of Tangled Roots Brewing Company in Ottawa, IL. Richard is a U.S. State Department Gilman Scholar having studied at the University of Hong Kong.
In 2016, Richard served as the Congressional Liaison Chair for the Illinois State Society Board.
